Sara Sansalone is a senior law clerk with 20 years of experience in insurance litigation and personal injury law. At Jones Kopp Litigation Partners LLP, she provides essential support to a team of partners and associates, handling pleadings, discovery, motions, pre-trial, and trial preparations with precision and efficiency.
Before joining Jones Kopp, Sara worked in the in-house legal department of a major national insurance company, where she played a key role in supporting insurance defence matters, including Accident Benefits and tort files. She worked closely with insureds, adjusters, claims representatives, and senior counsel to ensure seamless case management and exceptional client service. With deep expertise in LAT case conferences and hearings, she is adept at navigating complex Accident Benefits matters.
Throughout her career, Sara has worked alongside senior partners in mid-size and large firms, managing a diverse portfolio of insurance litigation cases, including personal injury, Accident Benefits (LAT), property claims, sexual abuse, medical negligence, and hospital liability. Her responsibilities have included analyzing and summarizing complex files, preparing Statement of Issues and Pre-Trial Conference Memoranda, and providing extensive trial preparation support. She has also attended watching briefs and examinations for discovery, further strengthening her litigation expertise.
Sara is committed to professional development and has attended continuing legal education seminars through Canadian Defence Lawyers, as well as Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario conferences in Quebec City and Halifax.
Outside of her legal career, Sara is a real estate investor and an active volunteer with Food4Kids and DBFB. She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, hiking, and forest bathing, finding balance between her professional and personal passions.
