Madeleine Mills is an articling student at Jones Kopp, set to be called to the bar in 2025. She brings a strong foundation in insurance defence, legal research, and litigation strategy, honed through hands-on experience in fast-paced legal environments.
Prior to joining Jones Kopp in 2022, Madeleine gained valuable experience at a boutique insurance defence firm in Toronto. As a law clerk, she played a key role in supporting three lawyers in their demanding tort practices, refining her ability to manage case files, conduct legal research, and assist in litigation strategy.
Madeleine earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Kent, where she demonstrated a strong commitment to public service. During her studies, she worked closely with the University of Kent’s Pro Bono Law Clinic, assisting resident lawyers in family law and immigration cases.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Madeleine is an avid reader with a keen interest in legal scholarship and contemporary literature. She is also an occasional writer, using her passion for storytelling to explore various legal and social themes.
With a detail-oriented approach and a dedication to continuous learning, Madeleine is committed to developing her expertise in insurance defence law and contributing to the success of the firm.
