Drew Higginbotham

Drew Higginbotham is an experienced insurance defence lawyer with a strong focus on occupiers’ liability, property damage, accident benefits, and tort litigation. He is known for his strategic approach to complex claims, ensuring clients receive practical, results-driven representation.

Before joining Jones Kopp Litigation Partners LLP in 2024, Drew practiced at a well-regarded Toronto law firm, where he built extensive experience handling uninsured motorist claims, priority disputes, accident benefits, and tort litigation. Throughout his career, he has represented clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Licence and Appeal Tribunal, advocating with confidence and precision.

Drew’s academic foundation in law and political science has shaped his analytical and advocacy skills. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2012, followed by his LL.B. from Kent Law School, University of Kent in 2015. He was called to the Ontario Bar in September 2018 and has since dedicated his practice to providing strategic counsel to insurers and corporations navigating complex legal challenges.

Drew is passionate about insurance defence and litigation strategy, taking a proactive approach to resolving disputes efficiently while protecting his clients’ interests. He prides himself on being detail-oriented, pragmatic, and committed to achieving the best possible outcomes.
