Leeza Pece

Before joining Jones Kopp Litigation Partners LLP, Leeza gained valuable experience practicing plaintiff-side litigation at a Toronto firm, where she focused primarily on tort law and accident benefits claims. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice and has contributed to class action proceedings as well as cases before the License Appeal Tribunal and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Tribunal.

Leeza’s academic background is equally impressive. She earned an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in French from Wilfrid Laurier University before obtaining her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa. During her legal studies, she expanded her international legal perspective by completing a semester at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 in Lyon, France. Leeza was an active member of the student community, serving as an executive on the Common Law Student’s Society and the Peer Mentorship Program, where she worked to support and guide fellow students.

Beyond her legal practice, Leeza is deeply committed to mentorship, education, and professional development. She is a regular volunteer for the Ontario Bar Association’s Elementary School Mock Trial Program and the Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) Law 1L Mentorship Program, where she helps inspire and support aspiring legal professionals. She also plays a leadership role in the Women’s Law Association of Ontario, serving as an executive member on the Communications Committee.

Leeza brings a well-rounded, thoughtful, and client-focused approach to her litigation practice, combining strong advocacy skills with a passion for mentorship and professional engagement. Her ability to navigate complex legal issues, her dedication to ongoing learning, and her commitment to fostering the next generation of legal professionals make her a valuable asset to both her firm and the broader legal community.
