Allison Gaw

Allison Gaw is a highly skilled and experienced lawyer with a practice focused primarily on insurance defence litigation. She has extensive experience handling a broad range of matters, including personal injury, subrogation, professional liability, occupiers’ liability, and commercial host claims, as well as providing coverage opinions on CGL occurrence policies and motor vehicle policies. Allison takes pride in working closely with her clients to develop tailored legal strategies that align with their goals, ensuring a proactive and results-driven approach to every case.

Allison has successfully represented clients before the Ontario Small Claims Court, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Divisional Court and has contributed to hearings before the Ontario Court of Appeal. Her litigation experience spans all stages of the legal process, from early case assessment to resolution, and she is recognized for her strong advocacy, meticulous preparation, and ability to navigate complex legal issues effectively.

In March 2016, Allison joined Jones Kopp Litigation, bringing with her a solid foundation in insurance defence from her time articling and practicing at a boutique litigation firm in Toronto. Her dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence led to her appointment as Managing Partner in 2021, a testament to her outstanding contributions to the firm and the trust she has earned from colleagues and clients alike. In this role, she continues to shape the firm’s strategic direction while maintaining a robust litigation practice.
