James Hirsh

James Hirsh is a dedicated civil litigator with a strong focus on insurance defence. His practice spans a wide range of tort law, including personal injury, subrogation, construction, and product liability. With nearly a decade of experience, he is known for his strategic approach and ability to navigate complex litigation effectively.

Before joining Jones Kopp Litigation Partners LLP in 2023, James practiced at several boutique insurance defence firms in Toronto. He has successfully represented clients before various levels of courts and tribunals across Ontario, advocating with precision and tenacity.

James earned his B.A. from McGill University in 2011 before completing his J.D. at the University of Western Ontario in 2014. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015 and has since built a reputation for his commitment to achieving practical, results-driven solutions for his clients.

Passionate about insurance defence, James combines deep legal knowledge with a pragmatic mindset to deliver effective advocacy. He takes pride in developing innovative strategies that protect his clients’ interests and lead to positive outcomes.
